How do I remove
or turn on/off
FrankSounds?
(The last few paragraphs tell how to add or change individual sounds)

Microsoft Windows lets you easily change the sounds which your computer plays when you do things like open a program, close a program, minimize a window, etc.

To do this, simply go to the
start menu (probably located in the lower left hand corner of your screen) and choose:
Start --> Settings --> Control Panel --> Sounds and Multimedia
This is illustrated below

Your control Panel (the middle box above) may not have an arrow which connects to the Sounds and Multimedia menu.

Just click on the Control panel selection and a window will open up where you can then find the
sounds and multimedia icon. On some computers the 'sounds and multimedia' is simply named 'sounds'.

Once you open the Sounds and Multimedia program, look for and choose 'Sounds' Tab (circled in RED above). Under this tab will be a setting called 'Scheme' change this to whatever you desire by clicking on the down arrow to the right of the selection box.

You can also change a single sound by highlighting the name of a sound under '
sound events' and then clicking the "Browse" button. Use the window that pops up to find a .wav file to be played for that sound. Click "OK".

You can also set the sound to 'None' by clicking the down arrow to the right of the 'Name' selection box and choosing 'none'.

To get rid of sounds you don't like, you can also reinstall the program and unselect any sounds you don't want to hear during the installation.
